Dear Parents,
Welcome April! March proved to be a very busy month for our toddlers. I believe that March actually never came in like a lion and left like a lamb. We were able to take advantage of many lamb-like weather days. Now that our snow dances are finished, we should surely see the lovely spring-like temperatures soon. We began the month learning about lions and lambs and using descriptive words that relate to them. We had many fun holidays during March. Liam left his mark in our classroom and the children enjoyed learning the “Jig”. Although April will be a short month, it will prove to be a busy one as well for the children. The toddlers have been gearing up for Parent’s Day with an under the sea theme. Please remember that these special days are Wednesday, April 2nd and Thursday, April 3rd . Parent’s Day will be exciting for the toddlers as the classroom will come alive with all different ocean creatures featured everywhere.
In addition to ocean life, the toddlers will also be celebrating Earth day. We will discuss ways of treating our beautiful planet by recycling, renewing and reducing waste. The toddlers will sort objects, plant seeds and reuse some objects for an art activity. As the temperature gets warmer, we will resume all of our outdoor activities. Please be sure you child wears comfortable shoes as we will visit the Freedom Playground, sports field and outdoor classroom. Sneakers are the best option!
Yellow will be the featured color for this month! Yellow days will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 23rd and Thursday, April, 24th. Please have your child wear something yellow on these days. The children will use yellow paint to make a Big Bird craft. The children will also prepare the room for Passover and Easter. They will be making a very festive Elijah’s Cup and decorate some very special eggs.
During April, the children will meet Mr. S, with his super socks. The toddlers will make a textured letter using string
The Dramatic Play area will be transformed into the SEA-tauket Aquarium. The children will enjoy all the activities involved in taking care of a variety of sea creatures
As always your generous donations of wipes are greatly appreciated. If you could pick up a package while in your travels that would be wonderful as we use them for so much more than diaper changes. As always, thank you for your continued support and cooperation!
Warmly,
Mrs. T
